Naruto Shippuden 133

This week’s episode of Naruto Shippuden concludes the long battle between Pain and Jiraiya.  Who will win?  Well, you probably know by now.  Enjoy the episode… if you can!

(Remember, last week we started merging our Horrible Subs and Taka Fansubs posts together, so when Taka’s episode is available, we’ll post it!)

New Naruto box sets are hitting store shelves now!

Naruto-Uncut-Season-1-Volume-1-Naruto411

Remember the cool Naruto box sets that had about 13 episodes per set?  Remember how I thought that was pretty low how each set was roughly $30?  Well apparently someone at Viz Media heard me, and decided to release the new and improved Naruto Uncut Box sets.  Disregard the current sets, because it seems like Viz are pretty much ditching them (on a side note. the old  Box Sets 1-14 are now $16.99 each which is a frickin’ steal on Amazon).   These sets contain 6 DVDs each which will contain about twenty-ish episodes per set compared to the usual thirteen-ish that were on the previous sets.  Season 1 is already out (you can buy it here.) and Season 2 is scheduled to be released on November 24th.  So that roughly covers up the Zabuza & probably most of the Chunin exam arcs for $54.98 shipped compared to what I paid about $100+ for.

Time to look at Akatsuki Rising and Ninja Destiny II

Okay, Naruto fans, It’s time for our Naruto game fall recap! This season, we have three games are being released! Today, we are just going to go over the two games have been released as of now. Those being the two portable Shippuden games – Ninja Destiny II & Akatsuki Rising.
First of all, I just want to let you all know that I have played the Japanese version of Ninja Destiny II and I honestly wasn’t very impressed. Akatsuki Rising didn’t look like a real winner either, especially with some ugly graphics which didn’t even good for last generation standards. So now, I’ll let it off to the pro game reviewers.
Naruto Shippuden Legends Akatsuki Rising Naruto411
Let’s see how Akatsuki Rising did on Metacritic… it got a 62/100.
“Even with an interesting item system and solid Ad Hoc multiplayer, the unintuitive lock-on system, mixed with an overly simple counter system, make Akatsuki Rising a mediocre game at best.” – IGN

“While the battles with faceless bandits can get boring rather quickly, there are decent game modes and decent multiplayer fun to be had in this game if you give it a chance.” – GameZone
Sounds like a good game to get when it’s $20 or lower!
Naruto Shippuden Ninja Destiny 2 Naruto411
Now for Ninja Destiny II… it got a 60/100.
“The shallow battle system makes the single-player mode boring, and while the story mode is interesting, it isn’t all that long and doesn’t cover much new ground.” – Cheat Code Central

“Naruto: Ninja Destiny II is just like its predecessor: A poor fighting game. Again, the combat system is to simplistic, the available game modes pretty pathetic and on top of that it’s a disgrace to the franchise. So, if you ever get your hands on this game, just throw it as far away as possible. Even if you’re fond of yellow spiked hair and bright colored pajamas.” – Gamer.nl

Long story short? With no Naruto 360/PS3 game this holiday season, it seems like the Clash of Ninja Revoluton III is the Naruto gamer’s last hope for a good Naruto game this year, compared to last year’s solid lineup of Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, The Broken Bond, & Ultimate Ninja Storm which were much, much, better than this year’s current lineup of Naruto games.

No Naruto Manga this week

Even though I mentioned last week that we were going to have no Naruto manga, I know how some of you tend to be forgetful.  Just as a reminder to you all, Kishimoto is taking a break this week in order to get ready for future chapters of the manga.  Naruto Manga 469 will be online next week, see ya then!
