Hi,

I was watching the chuunin exam arc tonight, and... I couldn't help but to notice that the fights were SO MUCH BETTER in the original series... Make me wonder, which series do you like the most, original or shipuuden? and please comment and tell us why!

I choose Shippuden. Why?

Well, you see the original Naruto series had it's goods and bads. The first few episodes of the series were awful right up until the Zabuza arc. Later on, the Chunin exams happened, and things finally started to pick up, and then everything went totally nuts. The 3rd vs the previous two hokages and Orochimaru was one hell of a fight, then Itachi's arrival to the village, then the three sannins fighting was insane.

Then after Itachi's return to the village, Sasuke started being a complete asshat. His selfishness and desire for power became annoying, and his constant bitching to beat the living hell out of Naruto was one of the most childish things I've ever seen. Naruto shouldn't of cared so much for Sasuke. Sasuke was just being a dick and he had no intent of stopping.

Even though the fights during the final canon arc of Naruto were amazing, it couldn't just shake the feeling that every battle was a waste of time. Sasuke wanted to leave. Why save him? I know Naruto didn't want to lose his friend, but Sasuke was out of his mind.

I'm not counting the filler against the series, however, I feel that the filler should been full arcs, instead of mini arcs. We saw had badly these mini filler arcs did over the course of two seasons.

As for Shippuden, it cut a lot of the BS that the previous series had. Naruto still had the desire to save Sasuke, but it wasn't shoved down our throats like it previously was. The first season of Shippuden is a mixed bag, it's extremely slow, and very drawn out. However the second season is very interesting, and it makes up for the dragged out first season.

After the filler season with Sora (which did add in tiny bits of canon), Hidan & Kakuzu arc was far by the most badass arc since the current one. Hidan was the biggest nutcase the Narutoverse has seen, and he was unstoppable until he was buried away (but who says he won't come back!)

We'll just pretend the three tails arc didn't exist.

Sasuke's return to Naruto was one of the most well needed things the series needed. We saw that Sasuke's 2 and half year boner finally wore off, and that he finally got his mind back in gear. Sasuke kills off Mic-- Orochimaru, and then recruits some fairly interesting people. Sasuke was cool up until the part that he killed Itachi.

Right here, was when Sasuke could of picked up his balls, and returned to the village. But no, Sasuke decided to get his boner on again when Mandara stuffed some BS into his head. Sasuke became a douche again. However, the later part of this story hasn't been revealed yet, but trust me, it gets worse from here on out.

Jiraiya dying was pretty frickin' sad. Nobody hated the pervy sage and the fight was epic. Even though he died, at least he went out smiling.

All I remember from the six tails filler are boobies. Lots and lots of boobies and topless girls. I already forgot the name of the Six Tails host.

The current arc now is very overwhelming. Pain is seemingly unstoppable, and we haven't seen a villian this powerful since Orochimaru. The arc is far by the best that Naruto has to offer.

TL;DR - Shippuden is better because it has less filler, and is way more interesting than the previous series was.

Wow, you really gave it much thoughts. Well, you are right on a lot of things. But I really loved the way they fight in the original series. Just remember the fight between Kiba and Naruto in the Chuunin selection exam, where Naruto transform into Kiba-Akamaru's technique... Kiba had to decided which one was his dog and which one was Naruto... or the way Naruto and Sasuke defeated Haku... How Shikamaru tricked Temari. Those fights were all tricky and were win in pretty clever ways...

It's as if all they have to do to win in shipuuden is to have strong techniques and "to never give up". Naruto wil rasengan his enemies away. I feel it is kinda cheap.

You know the last OVA in 3D with Sasuke? The way they win over the evil villain is so cool. It felt like the old Sasuke was back! (and unfortunately the old Sakura too!)

Anyway I got to say Shippuuden. Because of Sai, you know.

loooooool. You make me finally want to unlock the rest of the characters in Rev III that I've purposely been avoiding for months.

Yeah, but Naruto wasn't really fighting that way until the fillers began. Just proves my point that full arcs would of done a heck of a lot better than mini arcs so he wouldn't be doing the same shit all the time.

On topic, I seriously prefer to original Naruto's soundtrack over the Shippuden soundtrack. This is my quick top 3 of my favorite Naruto BGM!

When you hear any of these, you know that some serious shit is about to go down. Or when you hear Shikamaru's theme you think "That was awesome... how did he do that?" and then he explains it, and you're like "whooooooa".

Totally shippuuden. Even the fillers are better than the canon eps in the org.

I think I only liked two fillers in the original Naruto. The first obviously being Episode 101 and the second being the small arc where Naruto fights those guys with the gas masks or whatever again. It had something to do with a race, and I remember it being pretty interesting. The Mizuki filler had something going for it until he went all furry and then I was like "oh what the fuck is this shit?" and went downhill along witrh the anime.

As for Shippuden, even though the arcs are full ones now, I feel that they are fairly mediocre. The Sora filler was decent up until the end, The three tails filler started out good but totally failed hard because of having mist all over the fucking place, along with a boring Tailed Beast. The six tails filler was actually more interesting because of boobs. Plus it was a hell of a lot shorter. However, like I said, to balance out the anime more, I do prefer full arcs of filler.

Pierrot should hire me to write a filler. I'll show them how it's done. The first thing I'll do is remove Naruto from the entire arc (make him train or something so he can GTFO) and make it all about Kakashi & Shikamaru smoking cigs and beating the ever living shit out of anything that moves. That already sounds 99% more interesting than anything they've written before.

No, I downloaded the OST and it's called fake... ya can browse it on you tube, believe it.

And No, I DISAGREE! Fillers should be much shorter, but .... radomer I guess. Like a story of 4 episodes on Konohamaru's team I guess. I know it's awful, everytime it happens in Bleach to have Karin and Yuzu episode, I die a little, but no funny business afterward, it goes back to canon!

Oh and I did not enjoyed Sora's arc at all, but it did help to build up Asuma's death.

The problem with shorter filler arcs affects on how long or short the canon will be. I think the original intention with the first Naruto fillers was that Shippuden would air a few months after the final canon arc, but it ended up being much longer.

As for the Shikamaru theme or "fake", I'm not gonna look up the song name, but I'll go ahead and say you're right.
