They have different titles, man. What do you think? I never watched Shaman King since that was one of 4kids (or used to be?) properties here in the States.
A few things to note about Reborn:
1.
Next to no filler. The only filler the series ever had was a small group of episodes after the Varia arc. The episodes were goofy, but they weren't the quality of the typical Naruto or Bleach filler episode.
2.
The canons arcs actually end. The manga just ended the future arc that has been going on in the anime for a while now. The anime just started on the fights and has a decent distance between the manga. I can see filler obviously coming after this arc is concluded, but no filler arcs.
3.
Doesn't use Sex Appeal. Not to say that the series in no way has any sexual related jokes, but the series doesn't have characters like Naruto's Tsunade or Bleach's Orihime. It gives the series a more realistic feel to it, and keeps people more focused on what really matters. It tends to toss in a a lot comedic moments probably due to this, but it's well worth it in the end.
4.
Next to no blood. Ever since the series concluded the first season, the series has little to no blood. Sure, people still die. But compared to most other shonen series, Reborn is usually bloodless (it seem that the manga does, but I have to read it more before I can determine this).
5.
Has a bad habit of contradicting itself constantly. I wish I could remember what most of these were, but I caught several cases where characters tend to say how something works, or how someone does what, then a few episodes later it changes or happens in a different way without much of an explanation. Characters also tend to say weird things that also apply to this. I remember Gokudera saying something like "It's stupid that this guy gets stomach aches!" when the character himself is well known to fall over with a stomach ache when he sees his sister (she makes poison food).
The series is just as good as any other big shonen anime, and it's really worth watching. Just try not to take too seriously, or else you won't be watching it for very long.
