Sakura Haruno is a female kunoichi in the anime & manga Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden.  Sakura is a member of Kakashi’s Team 7 which consists of herself, Naruto, formerally Sasuke (“replaced” by Sai) , and Kakashi.

Sakura is the only member of Team 7 to not have a tragic past except for the fact that she was bullied when she attended the Academy as a young child.  At this time, Ino Yamanaka befriended Sakura.  Sakura was constantly teased because she had a large forehead.  Ino later gave Sakura a ribbon to show her face off more, and to show she did not care about having a large forehead.  Sakura & Ino both developed a crush on Sasuke, which ended their friendship so that they could compete for him. After the Chunin exams, however, they rekindled their friendship.  Though, both still compete with each other for everything.

PERSONALITY
When the series began, the most obvious fact about Sakura was her obsession with Sasuke. She constantly followed him, in hopes of trying to help him. Once Sasuke started getting into more serious battles, she started worrying about his well-being instead, such as Orochimaru seeking Sasuke, and the Cursed Seal.  When Sasuke began to leave Konoha, she expressed her love for Sasuke.  She also begs him to stay in the village, and that she would even go with him. Sasuke thanked Sakura, then knocked her out before finally leaving the village.  In Part II, it is unknown whether she still loves Sasuke or not but she still cares for him, and wishes for him to return to the village.  When someone speaks negatively about Sasuke she often threatens or even attacks the person.

In Part I, Sakura thought Naruto as a talentless idiot whose goal in life is to annoy her endlessly. As Sakura continually develops a better relationship with Naruto she drops many of her convictions over Naruto, but still calls him an idiot, and often still hits Naruto constantly.  When Sasuke left Konoha, Naruto promised Sakura that he would bring Sasuke back to the village, and eventually made it his “promise of a lifetime.”

In Part II, Sakura learns of the actual hardships in Naruto’s life, and finally learns that Naruto has the Nine-Tailed Fox inside of him. She also learns that Akatsuki wants to capture Naruto because of the Fox as well, and knows that Naruto will die if Akatsuki removes the fox from Naruto. Learning this, Sakura begins to care more about Naruto (similar to how she cared about Sasuke’s well-being) and cries over his many difficulties in life.

ABILITIES

In Part I, Sakura’s best ability was her intellgence. This was made even more apparent when she was the only ninja to answer the test questions during written test part of the Chunin Exams. At the end of Part I, Sakura becomes Tsunade’s apparentice to became a medicial kunoichi.

In Part II, Sakura becomes a very experienced medical-nin. She not only learns healing techniques but also learned Tsunade’s explosive offensive power.  Many often think that Sakura can surpass even Tsunade herself.
