Naruto411 Episode Comparison FAQ

It has come to my attention that I’m pretty much the only guy (as of now) that does episode comparisons of the Naruto Shippuden anime. I’ve had a lot of comments & questions on how I do it, and mainly on why I do it as well, so here I go.

1. How do you do it?
It’s actually much easier than you think. On Media Player Classic, I open the sub, and on VLC, I open the edited dub. I open up Microsoft Word, and then I play both videos together. If I catch anything interesting, I note it.

2. Why do you do it?
Because every Narunoob likes bitching on how much Viz Media ruined Naruto. They didn’t. Most of these idiots didn’t have to suffer with super edited anime such as DBZ like I did in my childhood. Anime on TV has come a long way. I do not do this to put down Viz Media, but just for amusement on how good/bad the edits/cuts are. I’m also inspired by people that did episode comparisons for the original Naruto series, One Piece, and the Saban version of Dragonball Z. I always found them interesting to read, and I figured that I would give Naruto411 users a treat by giving Naruto Shippuden the same treatment.

3. Why do you use “bootlegs” or fansubs for you episode comparisons? Why not just compare with the dub episodes that have been released on iTunes?
lol @ bootlegs. I use fansubs because the iTunes version of the episodes only contain the dub track. Another problem is that the dub has some odd translations for a few things that I’m not so down with, (Sakura’s cha being one) so I prefer to use the sub.

4. Are you aware the Viz Media also releases a uncut dub on iTunes & DVD?
Yes, I know they do. When I do buy Naruto, it will be in a box set. iTunes anime blows, and I’ll never buy overpriced individual DVDs.

5. Can my website or forum copy and paste your work and steal all of your images?
I’d prefer to asked first before you do steal my work, I know it’s bound to happen, and I’ll be googling every other month to see if my work is stolen. I’m also going to start watermarking my images soon too, so image theft is going to be a thing of the past soon. However, if you want to link a episode comparison to a certain episode on a forum/site, I’m down with that.

6. Do you record the dub episodes yourself? If not, where do you get them?
Cartoon Palace is where I get them, and they are a well known group that has been ripping anime/cartoons off TV for a few years now. The quality is usually top notch (for a TV Rip) and they usually cut out all of the annoying commercials.
